1985 Gibson G3: Behold the latest addition to my growing collection. Originally introduced in the late 70's as the flagship of the exisiting Grabber/Ripper line, the G3 is essentially a Ripper with 3 J-style pickups. This mid-80's model is exceptionally clean and well-maintained and is capable of a variety of useful tones in addition to the trademark Gibson growl. Believe it or not, with all 3 pickups blazing this bass sounds remarkably like one of Anthony Jackson's $6000 Foderas. This bass is a great workhorse and gets a good deal of use with Charles Parker's band.
